Professor Lefteris Oikonomou, President of I.T.E. (Foundation for Technology and Research of Crete), discusses the end of technological innocence. Researchers Natalia Karapanagioti and Ioanna Sergioti from I.T.E. demonstrate applications of lasers in science and art; a robot with a mythical name dances a waltz. Professor Leon Freris, in England, talks about the energy problem; Professor Yannis Papamastorakis discusses the use of information technology and microelectronics in astronomy, while Professor Dionysis Tsihritzis, director of GMD in Bonn, speaks about virtual reality, matter, and spirit.
Lastly, the eminent physicist Stephen Hawking discusses the responsibility of scientists and society in the use of technology and envisions our destiny.
