Historical Walks   (R)
Documentary / History

«Historical Walks» aims to highlight aspects of Greek History unknown to the general public simply and understandably.

The documentary series aims to present History in a different way, History in its place. With exterior shoots in Athens or the provinces, in locations related to the subject of each episode, and the "utilization" of the valuable archive of ERT and other organizations.

Today: «Students take the streets»

Professor Vangelis Karamanolakis takes us on a tour of the streets of Athens and talks to us about the history of student movements.
In the consciousness of Greek society, the student movement in Greece, Europe, and America signifies the struggle for emancipation and the desire for progressive social change. Has it always been this way?
The students' demands begin shortly after the establishment of the first university in Greece in 1837, and as the student population grows, their political action becomes more distinct. From the beginning, they attract the interest of public opinion.
