A 13-episode documentary series
Based on the book by Giorgos Grammatikakis, "Berenice's Hair"
Today:
«Life on planet Earth»
Episode 10
Would you believe that a primordial "soup" was the cradle of life? That life is created by a code, DNA, resembling a twisted ladder? That if we connect all the threads of a human's DNA, we'd reach the Sun? Chromosomes, genes, DNA, genetic code—these are now everyday terms, and a relatively new science, genetics, seems poised to dominate the new century.
In conversation with Goorgos Grammatikakis and guiding us through the marvelous world of life is Professor Babis Savakis, a molecular biology professor at the University of Crete, and Professor Fotis Kafatos, Director of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (E.M.B.L.) in Heidelberg.
