The cheerful daughter of the neighborhood tavern owner, Asimina, wins an apartment in a cooking contest and becomes 'The Queen of the Kitchen'. However, a chance queen must live like a real one, so the previously reserved Asimina sets out on a grand adventure. The advertising commitments she takes on and the fake marriage she enters into with the elderly Mr. Gustavo, in order to participate in the contest, distance her from her father and her fiancé Thanasis, a good-natured electrician who referees soccer matches every Sunday and often gets beaten - but not for much longer.
