Romantic comedy, produced in 1961.
Two fairly wealthy and elderly friends, neighbors for many years, spend their time playing chess and discussing matters of age and health. At the same time, they are enchanted by a poor young woman, the beautiful Rita, who has come to spend Easter with her own family.
Agisilaos, considering her tolerance, contemplates proposing to her despite his age. However, Andreas, although he also entertains similar thoughts, doesn't dare to admit it.
In a dream, like in Faust, the devil appears and offers him to exchange his soul for youth.
Andreas accepts but quickly realizes that youth alone is not enough to make someone happy. However, the exchange (in his dream) has already taken place.
Awakening with a more mature mindset, instead of fooling around, he chooses to provide Rita with a dowry so that she can find happiness and live a comfortable life with her beloved.
The plot, which is a variation of the Faust myth, is based on the play of the same title by Alekos Sakellarios - Christos Giannakopoulos.
Dimitris Horn delivers an exceptional performance and was honored with the Best Actor Award at the Thessaloniki Film Festival in 1961, accompanied by classic songs by Manos Hatzidakis.
