“Tatiana Papadopoulou” [With english subtitles]
Episode 2
When Tatiana Papadopoulou was at the Royal Academy of Dance in London dreaming about her career, she couldn’t have imagined that, at some point, a car accident would leave her bedridden for months and with the possibility of never walking again.
However, not only did she manage to walk, but also to put on her dancing shoes again, first as a dancer and then, mainly, as a choreographer and artistic director, as she founded the professional group “Dancers of North” in Thessaloniki.
We meet her there and we gain rare access to the dance auditions she holds at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall to staff her team. We listen to her story and watch her dancers dance against the backdrop of the Thermaic Gulf. Among them is the first deaf professional dancer of the Greek National School of Dance, who was her student from a young age.
Meanwhile, Tatiana Papadopoulou confesses her deep thoughts to Nicole Alexandropoulou, who is behind the camera.
Among the speakers are Panagiotis Paraschos, dancer, Areti Koutsikopoulou, co-owner of the “Arabesque” dance school, Christos Galileas, artistic director of the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, Antonis Sousamoglou, violinist-composer.
Available on ERTFLIX.
