Period drama miniseries.
Set in Corfu in 1906, the period drama miniseries "Sinful Love" produced by ERT1, directed by Nikos Koutelidakis and written by Eleni Zioga, brings to life in an artistic way the eponymous short story by Konstantinos Theotokis.

The six-episode series tells a story of forbidden passion in an oppressive patriarchal society that tests the limits and endurance of its characters. Each of the heroes is confronted with their most dangerous secrets, which they dare not confess even to themselves.

Plot:
Stathis Therianos (played by Nikos Psaras), one of the most hardworking and responsible inhabitants of the village of Dafnila in Corfu, is married to Diamando (Karyofyllia Karambeti). He secretly and passionately falls in love with the young Chrysavgi (Eugenia Xygkourou), the coveted daughter of wealthy landowner Spyros Aspreas (Yannis Dalianis). Enchanted by her unparalleled beauty, he does everything in his power to arrange her marriage to his son Giorgis (Michail Tambakakis) in order to have her close to him, even in this way.

Diamando tries to prevent the engagement, knowing the dark "shadow" of her husband, although he has been an exemplary husband and father all these years. Diamando's futile attempts to persuade her son to marry his childhood friend Evgenia (Isabella Baltsavia) to prevent the evil from happening are in vain. Giorgis and Chrysavgi get married and settle in her parents' house, as dictated by the social norms of the time. When Giorgis leaves to fulfill his military service, Chrysavgi finds herself at the mercy of Therianos, who is consumed by a mad passion for his daughter-in-law, awakening the "beast" that lies within him. Every day, he struggles with himself and alcohol, desperately trying to tame his darkest demons.

Unaware of the real problem, Chrysavgi's noble and imposing mother, Katerina (Mariandi Sontaki), senses that something is wrong in her daughter's new home. However, no one reveals the truth to her.

The bride and the mother-in-law join forces for a common purpose, engaging in a secret war that has been declared inside Therianos' house. It remains to be seen which of the two will prevail: the criminal passion of the patriarch or the fair alliance of oppressed women.
